Speleology lovers will find a high concentration of caves on the Apuan Alps that surround our park:
it is believed that the raising of these mountains originated 27 million years ago and ended more or less 2 million years ago.
The initially sedimentary rocks turned into metamorphic rocks, and limestone turned into marble, the sedimentary rock originated cavities ranging from the kilometric to the centrimetic.
